PEBBLE BEACH RESORTS UNVEILS A NEW RESTAURANT AT THE LODGE FEATURING STUNNING VIEWS, A UNIQUE CONCEPT AND A LEGENDARY NAME

Set to open on August 6, the casual, yet sophisticated dining experience showcases a contemporary design, open atmosphere and wood-roasted cuisine

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (June 26, 2012) – Pebble Beach Resorts announces an exciting new addition to its extensive portfolio of dining experiences. Opening August 6, a new restaurant at The Lodge at Pebble Beach will feature its own unique style, concept and dining experience, overlooking the 18th hole at Pebble Beach Golf Links and the unparalleled beauty of Stillwater Cove. By leveraging both the views and the tradition of The Lodge, this new establishment will seat more than 130 patrons, providing the perfect dining experience for the golfer, family or couple.

Designed with an open-air atmosphere, the restaurant includes an expansive dining room surrounding a lively bar, glass-enclosed conservatory and outdoor dining adjacent to signature fire pits, with the greatest finishing hole in golf and Pacific coastline in full view. Chef Yousef Ghalaini, most recently executive chef of Imperial No. Nine in New York, delivers an eclectic menu inspired by international styles and methods, using the innovative technique of wood-roasting and open-flame cooking. Sophisticated recipes drawn from some of the greatest restaurants and chefs in the world will be translated into one-of-a-kind specialty dishes utilizing simple ingredients and bold flavors. Guests will also be invited to enjoy one-of-a-kind craft cocktails, as well as an array of draft beers and wines by the glass.

“This new restaurant will truly have something for everyone,” said Pebble Beach Company Chief Executive Officer Bill Perocchi. “While the food is unparalleled, it is the complete dining experience—from the atmosphere, to the design, to the incredible views—that will have guests coming back again and again, whether it’s a small bite after the perfect day on the course or a special dinner to commemorate a birthday or anniversary.”

The restaurant will also highlight an iconic moment in Pebble Beach history. To symbolize the return of Pebble Beach to American ownership in 1999, a commemorative bench has been placed overlooking the 18th hole where the acquisition was consummated. The bench honors the vision of its owners to preserve this national treasure for future generations, thus the name of the restaurant, “The Bench”.

“We are very proud of the history of Pebble Beach,” added Mr. Perocchi “and to commemorate this very special milestone through The Bench is something we are excited to share with our guests.”
