Jeff Gove, Tommy Armour III Among Past Champions Teeing Up at the 45th Annual TaylorMade Pebble Beach Invitational Presented by Dell EMC

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (November 16, 2016) – Players from each of the major golf tours will tee it up in Pebble Beach this week, as the TaylorMade Pebble Beach Invitational Presented by Dell EMC celebrates its 45th playing on November 17-20.

The TaylorMade Pebble Beach Invitational is one of the most unique golf events in the world, bringing together stars from the PGA, LPGA, Champions and Web.com Tours to compete head-to-head for their own Pebble Beach title. Players that have captured the tournament crown include two-time Major winner and World Golf Hall of Fame member Johnny Miller; 1996 PGA Champion Al Geiberger; and seven-time LPGA Major winner and World Golf Hall of Fame member Juli Inkster.

The TaylorMade Pebble Beach Invitational is a four-day event that features 81 professionals in a unique format that pairs them with select amateurs from around the world. Players will contend on Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill Golf Course and The Links at Spanish Bay simultaneously from Thursday, November 17 through Saturday, November 19. Pebble Beach Golf Links will host the final round on Sunday, November 20, where professionals that make the cut will compete for a $300,000 purse ($60,000 for first place).

This year’s contenders include defending champion Jeff Gove, three-time Invitational champion Tommy Armour III, Major Champions Mike Weir, Trevor Immelman and Rich Beem; Champions Tour notables Scott McCarron, Tom Pernice, Jr., Duffy Waldorf and Fred Funk; LPGA star Natalie Gulbis and local favorite Mina Harigae. Other past Invitational champions in the field include Champions Tour players Mark Brooks (1992, 2002 and 2009), Olin Browne (2001), Kevin Sutherland (2000) and Kirk Triplett (1996); and Web.com star John Mallinger (2010).

Teams of four amateurs are matched with a different pro each day. The event’s innovative tee-placement system, based on the average length of shots in each Tour, makes this competition possible. Spectators are welcome free of charge all days to enjoy the action, with convenient complimentary parking available above Peter Hay Golf Course. The TaylorMade Pebble Beach Invitational continues to support the local charities of the Kiwanis Club of Monterey and the AT&T Pebble Beach Junior Golf Association.
