All residents will continue to have normal access through the gates with their 2019 Del Monte Forest emblems. The same is true for your gardeners, housekeepers, caretakers, and others with 2019 annual gate passes. Please note that old emblems and gate passes will not grant access during the U.S. Open week.
If you have guests visiting during the week of the U.S. Open, we are offering you up to five (5) temporary gate passes for your guests to gain access to the Del Monte Forest.
Please fill out the following form by Friday, May 10th.

Yes, resident lanes will be open all day and during peak hours. To reduce congestion at the gates during the week, 17-Mile Drive will be closed to all tourist traffic. The vast majority of U.S. Open ticketholders will park in off-site locations such as CSUMB. Peak hours for Championship traffic are expected generally from 7:00 to 11:00 AM and 3:00 to 8:00 PM. The best gate to use will most likely be the one closest to your home, and it is advisable to travel during non-peak hours during the week.
A ticket is required to attend the Championship. Residents who purchase tickets from the DMF website portal: www.usga.org/delmonteforest (using the promo code: 2019dmfr) will receive a parking pass to park along 17-Mile Drive near Spanish Bay. From there, you will be shuttled to the main admission gate, located at the old driving range on Forest Lake Road. Alternatively, residents may be dropped off at the designated Passenger Drop-Off, also located near the main admission gate on Forest Lake Road. No drop-offs or pick-ups are allowed at the other Championship entrances near the Carmel gate or The Lodge. Your tickets and parking pass will be mailed to you if you purchase before 5/31; after 5/31, tickets will be at Will Call.
Yes, Uber/Lyft/Taxis will be allowed into DMF, and residents may use those services to be dropped off near the Main Admission Gate to the Championship. No drop-offs are allowed at the other Championship entrances.
Yes, though your route to and from the Post Office and Market will be different. 17-Mile Dr. in front of the Visitor Center will be one-way from Alva Lane to the top of Peter Hay Hill. Therefore, if you usually go down Peter Hay Hill to get to the Post Office, you will instead need to follow the route highlighted in yellow on the attached map. Road closures are highlighted in red. The Market will offer a streamlined Championship menu.
Lodge area residents may by-pass much of the U.S. Open traffic by taking Drake Road-Stevenson Drive-Bristol Curve then turning on to Forest Lake Road near Stevenson School and heading on to one of the Pacific Grove gates. 17-MD through the Pescadero Canyon will remain open for local traffic throughout the Championship, but will be heavily used by cars and buses entering and exiting the Forest through the Hwy One gate, especially in the early morning and late afternoon hours.
Detours and Road Closures:
The segment of 17-MD located between both ends of Crespi Lane will be closed to through traffic from Mon 6/10 to Sunday 6/16 between 5:00 AM – 9:00 PM. All traffic, except for residents who live on this segment of 17-MD, will be detoured to Crespi Lane during this period. Road closures are highlighted in red.
