4 Pebble Beach Company Foundation provides grants to the best youth organizations in Monterey County. Based on extensive research and observation, it has been proven that exposure to these initiatives is a key driver for the future success of our children. Each grant application we receive is measured by the impact it makes in its respective area, and our grant committee spends over one thousand hours annually vetting and evaluating every application we receive. Our grant making focuses on supporting organizations that make a difference in the seven areas featured below. We are proud to provide the financial support that funds these meaningful programs changing the lives of Monterey County youth. Friends of the Salinas Public Library The first day of kindergarten can be frightening for young children, especially if they have never experienced a preschool program. Each summer, Friends of the Salinas Public Library helps chase away these jitters for 30 local underserved schoolchildren. Children attend camp for two weeks and upon graduation, each student receives a backpack filled with school supplies and is ready for the first day of kindergarten. San Carlos School “The Accelerated Reader Program has been such a blessing for our children! The majority of our students in grades 1 through 8 are reading at or above grade level, and those with learning differences are receiving individualized, targeted, and effective reading intervention. ” — Teresa Bennett, Principal LITERACY EARLY CHILDHOOD & KINDERGARTEN Digital NEST Digital NEST provides youth with free access to computers, software, Wi- Fi, and state-of-the-art digital tools and classes in order to master the technological skills they need to pursue higher education and launch careers. “My life forever changed due to the impact of Digital NEST. My new job at Adobe (which I LOVE!) wouldn’t have been possible without the NEST and their guidance.
