Unwrap the Holiday Cheer at Pebble Beach

It’s not uncommon for the metaphorical lights to shine brightly on Pebble Beach. Tiger Woods basked in the spotlight after a historic victory in 2000. Before that, Tom Kite, Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus all hit shots that remain etched in the minds of golf fans for generations to come. Most recently, Allisen Corpuz joined the list of great champions and come February, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am will host its strongest field to date as a PGA TOUR signature event.

While the bright lights of the golf world shine elsewhere for the next few weeks, Pebble Beach Resorts is shining brightly on its own as the property has transformed into a winter wonderland. For the next few weeks, guests will be greeted by the warm glow of holiday lights and a host of other activities that make Pebble Beach an idyllic snow globe set on the Monterey Peninsula.

Across the resort, guests have the chance to indulge in a variety of festivities from Christmas Carolers at The Lodge to the Holiday Petting Zoo at The Inn at Spanish Bay. Not to be missed is a resort-favorite tradition, the gingerbread display crafted by Nicole Salazar and her team.

Chef Nikki and her team of seven began working on the display at the end of October, logging nearly 250 hours. Centered around a nine-hole miniature golf display, this masterpiece includes 1,264 pounds of gingerbread dough, 130 pounds of powdered sugar, four snowmen, three dogs, a Pebble Beach sign, a clock and LED lights throughout the building and Christmas tree, a clock.

There are many great traditions upheld at Pebble Beach Resorts – a group photo on the iconic par-3 seventh hole, a handshake as the waves crash against the 18th, recapping an unforgettable day in the Tap Room, the bagpiper playing as the sun sets over Spanish Bay. Call it recency bias but we’re adding Chef Nicole’s gingerbread display to our list of favorites.
