Pebble Beach Company takes great pride in our environmental stewardship of the Del Monte Forest and adjacent coastline along 17-Mile Drive. Our goal is to manage our 5,300 acres of properties and open spaces on a sustainable basis so that Pebble Beach is available for the enjoyment of generations to come.

State-of-the-Art Irrigation Systems

Using advanced computer systems and hand-held radio controls, Company maintenance crews monitor golf course conditions in real-time and water on an as-needed basis, maximizing the efficiency of its irrigation program.

Energy Efficiency Programs

The Company has successfully reduced energy usage by 16% over the past two years through extensive retrofits and upgrades. This reduction translates to savings of 1,900,000 pounds of carbon emissions—which is equivalent to taking 160 cars off the road.

Reusing & Recycling

More than 6.5 million pounds of plastic, glass, metal, cardboard, paper, green waste and over a dozen additional materials have been diverted annually from landfills through the Company’s Reuse and Recycle programs.

Forestry/Ecology Department

Pebble Beach Company has a full time staff of 10 ecology, forestry, and native plant nursery staff. Our nursery is capable of growing 70,000 native plants a year for use in re-vegetation and reforestation projects, which we operate year-round for all open space areas within the 5,300 acres of the Del Monte Forest.
