Spring has Sprung at The Bench!

Across the country, barren branches have made way for blooming flowers. Golfers from coast-to-coast rejoice as tee sheets open and here at The Bench awaits a lineup of cocktails fit for the occasion. Just last month, the most highly acclaimed mixologists made their way to Pebble Beach Food & Wine 

Whether it’s at a party, backyard barbecue, or just because, these DIY recipes will make you the “go-to” mixologist this season.

OAXACAN HEAT

The Bench | Seasonal Drinks

Ingredients:

  • 1.5oz 400 Conejos
  • .5oz Triple Sec
  • .5oz Guava Puree
  • .5oz Lemon Juice
  • .5oz Habanero Agave Syrup
  • 5 Cucumber Rounds
  • ½ Tajin Rim
  • King Cube
  • Thin Cucumber Sliced Garnish
  • Small Craft Rocks Glass

Method:

Prepare small craft rocks glass with ½ Tajin rim and king cube. Add guava, agave and lemon to mixing glass with cucumber. Muddle. Add mezcal and triple sec. Cover with ice. Shake and double strain into prepared glass. Garnish with thin cucumber resting on king cube

GINGER ROSE 

Ingredients:

  • 1.5oz Tito’s Vodka 
  • 2oz Rosemary & Juiced Ginger Syrup 
  • .5oz Lemon Juice 
  • 2oz Club Soda 
  • Rosemary Sprig Garnish 
  • Copper Cup 
  • Regular Ice 

Method:

Add all ingredients to mule cupAdd regular ice. Stir. Garnish with bruised rosemary sprig.

SOUTHSIDE JALISCO

Ingredients:

  • 2oz Espolon Reposado 
  • .5oz Cointreau
  • .25oz Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur
  • .75oz Lime Juice
  • .75oz Simple Syrup
  • 10 Mint Leaves
  • Coupe Glass
  • Floating Singe Mint Leaf Garnish

Method:

Add all ingredients to a mixing glass. Cover with ice and shake until chilled and diluted. Double strain into coupe. Garnish with floating mint leaf. 

SAGE & SPARKLE

Ingredients:

  • .5oz St Germain Elderflower Liqueur
  • .5oz Lemon Juice
  • .5oz Pear Purée
  • .5oz Bench Agave
  • 4 Sage Leaves + 2 Garnish
  • Cocktail Coup

Method:

Build in AP wine glass. Add St. Germain, lemon, sage syrup, prosecco, and club soda to glass. Stir. Add ice, preserving a lower wash line. Garnish with sage sprig and edible viola bloom. 

BEEKEEPER 

Ingredients:

  • 1.5oz Tanqueray
  • 10 Blueberries
  • 1oz Lemon Juice
  • 1oz Honey Syrup
  • Blueberry-twist Wrapped Garnish

Method:

Add gin, lemon, honey syrup and blueberries to mixing tin. Muddle blueberries. Add ice. Shake and dump into water glass. Garnish.

GUAVA GARDEN

Ingredients:

  • 1oz Guava Puree
  • 3 Basil Leaves
  • 5 Mint Leaves
  • .5oz Lemon Juice
  • .75oz Grenadine
  • Sprite to fill
  • Lemon Wheel Garnish
  • Regular Ice
  • Lemon Wheel Garnish

Method:

Add puree, lemon, herbs, and grenadine to shaker. Fill with ice. Shake and strain into small beer glass. Fill with Sprite. Lift cocktail through bubbles. Garnish with lemon wheel.
